V njem sodeluje skupaj 5 projektnih partnerjev iz Italije in Slovenije.
Osnovni cilj projekta CLEAN BERTH je povečati institucionalno zmogljivost pristanišč programskega območja in izdelati nove osnove za usklajeno in stalno upravljanje okoljske trajnosti in energetske učinkovitosti pristanišč, na čezmejni ravni, s skupno zasnovanimi in usklajenimi akcijskimi načrti ter z dolgoročno strategijo, da bo zagotovila varnost in konkurenčnost pristanišč.
Na področju varovanja okolja in učinkovite rabe energije, doslej še noben projekt ni zbral vseh pristanišč programskega območja, s ciljem iskanja skupne rešitve za skupne težave, in še nikoli prej ni prišlo do skupne čezmejne strategije. Preučilo se bo možnosti prenosa praks s področja okoljske trajnosti in energetske učinkovitosti, zasnovanih v okviru DS3.1, v druga evropska in mednarodna pristanišča.
The CLEAN BERTH project was adopted as part of the Interreg Italia-Slovenia Call for Proposals in 2018, with the specific objective: “Strengthen institutional cooperation capacities by encouraging public authorities and key actors in the program area to develop common solutions to common challenges”. It’s a 24-month project which started in March 2020. It involves a total of 5 project partners from Italy and Slovenia.
The main goal of the CLEAN BERTH project is to increase the institutional capacity of the ports of the program area and to develop new bases for coordinated and continuous management of environmental sustainability and energy efficiency of ports, at cross-border level, with jointly designed and coordinated action plans and long-term strategy in ports.
In the field of environmental protection and energy efficiency, so far no project has brought together all the ports in the program area, with the aim of finding a common solution to common problems, and there has never been a common cross-border strategy. Within the CLEAN BERTH project, the Port of Koper will be the leading partner in the activity DS3.2 – a pilot work package for environmental sustainability and energy efficiency of ports in the program area. As part of the aforementioned work package, Luka Koper will be in charge of coordinating the activities of project partners in the implementation of their pilot actions. The possibility of transferring environmental sustainability and energy efficiency practices designed under WP3.1 to other European and international ports will be explored. The Port of Koper will benefit significantly from participating in the CLEAN BERTH project, as it will be able to improve its expertise and further modernize existing equipment in terms of environmental sustainability, as the project will install modern radars to detect hydrocarbons in the sea. In addition to this, Luka Koper will be able to rationalize the control of traffic flows to and from the Port of Koper from the sustainability point of view, with special emphasis on sustainable local urban development. In addition, thanks to cooperation with the ports of Trieste and Venice, the Port of Koper will also benefit from the exchange of experiences and the development of joint solutions aimed at increasing integration and governance between project partners and key stakeholders, in order to establish a permanent cross-border institutional cooperation network.
The project started on 1.3.2020 and is expected to last until 28.2.2022. All activities in the project receive co-financing from the European Fund in the amount of 85%.
