Port of Koper could become an entry point for Bangladesh garment export to hinterland CEE markets, resulting in shortened transport times and cost savings on both the maritime and land transport legs, not forgetting the increasingly important environment protecting effects due to a smaller carbon footprint of such transport.
As per @Eurostat, Europe imported €69 billion worth of clothing from outside the EU in 2020. Bangladesh was the second largest non-EU source country with 18 % of share, falling only behind China (30 %).
Bangladesh is also a promising pharmaceutical exporter; they are currently exporting medicines to more than 151 countries worldwide, including countries of Central Europe.
